Get ready, Mahomies! Austin Mahone is gearing up for a debut release -- and is going on a summer tour! The singer announced the news on Z100's Elvis Duran and the Morning Show on Friday, April 4. (The news comes on the same day as his 18th birthday!)
"This is for my Mahomies. Thank you for supporting me and sticking with me all this time," the singer said in a press release statement. "I couldn't think of a better way to celebrate my birthday than to be able to announce new music and a huge tour for all you guys!"
Mahone's debut release, The Secret, on May 27, and will kick off his first headlining tour in his hometown of San Antonio, Texas on July 25. The singer will be joined by The Vamps and special guest Fifth Harmony.
The teen heartthrob released his first single "11:11" back in 2012, and signed with Young Money last September. Some of his other hits include 2012's "Say Somethin'" and 2013's "What About Love." The singer opened for Taylor Swift's Red tour last year, and snagged the Artist to Watch award at the MTV Video Music Awards back in August 2013.
Mahone has been busy in the studio these days, and recently had a friendly music studio run-in with Justin Bieber, who also got his start by posting covers on YouTube. Bieber, 20, posted a picture of the pair via Twitter on Wednesday, April 2.
"Austin and Justin have met before and they really respect each other's music," an insider told Us Weekly.
"Justin happened to be in the same studio with Birdman," a second source explained. "Austin was in the studio next door recording a song that Justin wrote."
