The noir-like, cinematic shot — posted to Snyder's Twitter on Tuesday, May 13 — shows a particularliy buff Batman in the foreground, his muscled armor shrouded in shadows. Beside him is the Batmobile, which looks like a somewhat sleeker version of the Tumbler that Christian Bale drove in Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy.

"I shot this with my @Leica_Camera M Monochrom," Snyder wrote beside the dusky photo, adding the hashtags "#Batman," "#Batmobile," and #Gotham."

Snyder first teased the Batmobile on Monday, May 12, with a picture of the Batmobile mostly hidden by a large covering. "Could be time to pull the tarp…" he tweeted. "Tomorrow?"

Batman vs. Superman, the sequel to Snyder's Man of Steel movie, stars Affleck as the Caped Crusader, alongside Henry Cavill's Superman, Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman, Jesse Eisenberg's Lex Luthor, Amy Adams' Lois Lane, and Jeremy Irons' Alfred Pennyworth.

"Ben provides an interesting counterbalance to Henry's Superman," Snyder explained of the Argo star, 41. "He has the acting chops to create a layered portrayal of a man who is older and wiser than Clark Kent and bears the scars of a seasoned crime fighter, but retain the charm that the world sees in billionaire Bruce Wayne."
