Miss, miss, it’s DAVE LETTERMAN! Billy Eichner’s latest installment of his Funny or Die comedy series, Billy on the Street, featured the soon-to-be retired Late Show host David Letterman.
Wearing an “LS” zip-up sweatshirt, Letterman, 67, sprinted around the streets of New York with Eichner, 36, interrogating random New Yorkers.
“I’m out here with the new host of E!’s Fashion Police, David Letterman,” the loud-mouthed host joked. “We all know the Late Show has been a big breakout role for Dave, so we’re about to hit the streets and ask New Yorkers what Dave’s next move should be.”
After being asked what the Late Show host’s next move should be, one woman replied, “Retire with lots of happiness.”
“God bless you, that’s very sweet,” Letterman replied.
Eichner broke up the tender scene, shouting, “Do you realize that every step you take you’re walking in David Letterman’s shadow?!,” before running away.
Eichner later screamed (without waiting for a reply), “Miss, what’s David Letterman going to do now? Maybe he’ll play shuffleboard with Dan Rather?”
