TLC has announced a second season of "Breaking Amish" with new cast members, as well as a spin-off featuring original members Kate, Jeremiah, Sabrina, Abe and Rebecca.

Double trouble? TLC is presenting a double-dose of its controversial series Breaking Amish this year, the network announced on Wednesday, April 3.

The five original cast members — Abe, Rebecca, Kate, Sabrina and Jeremiah — will return to the network, but this time in a spinoff series called Breaking Amish: Brave New World, which will follow the reunited youngsters as they try to make a fresh start in a large ex-Amish community in Sarasota, Fla.

At the end of last year's much talked-about first season, Rebecca and Abe wed in a traditional Amish ceremony in their Pennsylvania hometown (Rebecca also revealed that she has an infant daughter, though she refuses to identify the child's father).

In the spinoff series, the group of former Amish and Mennonite men and women will encounter "even more culture shock and unexpected challenges" as they try to navigate an unfamiliar city, according to a release from TLC.

"The Breaking Amish franchise is a remarkable look at individuals facing a critical crossroads in their lives, whether to pursue the dreams they've always had, or stay in the only life they've ever known," TLC's general manager, Amy Winter, said in a statement.

A new crop of fresh-faced Amish and Mennonite men and women is also set to film a second season of Breaking Amish. The cast will consist of three women and four men, and is scheduled to premiere later this summer.

"Both iterations of the series follow a group of young men and women on their own journeys of self discovery as they navigate new relationships and explore the world around them," Winter added.

Breaking Amish: Brave New World is slated to kick off on Sunday, May 12 at 10 p.m. EST on TLC.
