Love without rose ceremonies? Britt Nilsson lost her chance at being the Bachelorette on Tuesday, May 19, when season 11's group of 25 men opted to vie for Kaitlyn Bristowe's heart. She may still get her happy ending, however, as she made an early connection with one special man.
Nilsson, 27, stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Tuesday night after she was eliminated from The Bachelorette, dishing on her rough goodbye and her potential romantic future. She sounded off on the tricky, somewhat cruel way that host Chris Harrison informed her that she was leaving the show, recalling his quote of, "I counted the votes. The majority of the men have chosen one woman who they can hopefully see a future with. Britt, unfortunately, you are not the Bachelorette."
"[It was] very misleading, wasn't it?" the California waitress said of Harrison's word choice. "Oh I get it — watching it back, I was like, 'That is a more interesting way to watch it.'"
"I was shocked," Nilsson continued. "I really was. I just had this feeling that I was supposed to do it, so in my mind, that meant I'm gonna do the whole season. I met these guys and I felt things starting. I did like some of these guys, there were a few."
While she hit it off with multiple men on the season premiere, one contestant in particular took it upon himself to fight for her heart. After being declared the Bachelorette, Bristowe, 29, held her first rose ceremony but was interrupted in the middle of it by Nashville-based musician Brady.
The 33-year-old love-seeker stepped out of his place in line and asked Bristowe if they could chat briefly. "If I'm honest with you and myself, my heart is with the woman that left a couple hours ago," Brady told Bristowe of Nilsson before he was shown leaving the mansion to seek out his heart's desire.
After playing the clip, host Jimmy Kimmel marveled, "Did he find you?” Hesitating to answer, Nilsson finally confessed, "Uh, I mean, yeah... in my hotel room, crying."
"I guess Chris Harrison felt bad about having let me go, so, he gave Brady my [hotel room number]," she continued. "It is pretty smooth, it's very gentlemanly. I thought it was sweet."
As to whether she is currently in a relationship with the singer-songwriter, Nilsson teased, "I cannot reveal at all. He comes to my door and I was very surprised. It will be on the show next week."
