Celebrity Apprentice Recap: Vivica A. Fox Fired, Geraldo Rivera, Leeza Gibbons in Final Two

Vivica A. Fox, Geraldo Rivera and Leeza Gibbons made it to Donald Trump's final three boardroom session on the Feb. 9 episode.

Vivica A. Fox was nothing if not a fighter on this season of The Celebrity Apprentice, and she gave it her all right up until Donald Trump uttered those magic words on the Monday, Feb. 9 episode. "I'm definitely a good player," Fox, playing for Best Buddies, said during her last boardroom session. "I've done good and I've won some tasks for my charity."

Fired after a recap of past series moments, Fox joined Geraldo Rivera and Leeza Gibbons in the boardroom as the final three pled their case to Mr. Trump. While Rivera looked out for himself — of course calling Trump "boss" once or 10 times — Gibbons was quick to praise Fox for her efforts while Trump was considering which star to fire.

"Vivica is a very strong competitor. She was my inspiration as project manager," Gibbons said of Fox. "I watched her lead, inspire, uplift, and include — never denigrate everybody."

Indeed, Trump picked up on the fact that Fox was a standout in terms of keeping her team in line and getting the job done. Before dropping the ax, The Donald called to mind Fox's infamous struggle with Real Housewives of Atlanta's Kenya Moore. "You went through a lot [with Kenya], and I respect you for that," Trump told Fox. Though Fox missed out on the show's ultimate prize, she walked away with a $50,000 donation for her Best Buddies charity, calling her experience both "challenging" and "rewarding."

Once Fox was given the boot, it was up to Rivera and Gibbons to execute one final task: To create a 90-second commercial spot for Universal Orlando and sell vacation packages. Along for the ride, as is customary with the final task, were eliminated players Kevin Jonas, Johnny Damon, and Brandi Glanville (working for Team Leeza) and Fox, Lorenzo Lamas, and Ian Ziering pitching in for Team Geraldo.

On next week’s The Celebrity Apprentice season 14 finale, Gibbons and Rivera's work will be evaluated and the new Apprentice crowned. As Rivera hinted to Trump during the final three boardroom session, his face-off with Gibbons will be must-watch television. "Leeza and I are very evenly matched in every regard. If you want the fight of the year, we're your match," Rivera said.
