Dropping the hammer! Chris Hemsworth is getting a cold dose of reality in his holiday-themed promos for his upcoming Saturday Night Live episode.
The hunky actor, 32, is set to host the venerable NBC sketch series for his second time on Saturday, Dec. 12. He appears with cast member Leslie Jones at the famed Rink at Rockefeller Center in promos for the episode, with Jones grumbling that she wishes Robert Downey Jr. — Hemsworth's Avengers costar — were hosting instead.
"Well, you'll have to settle for your second-favorite Avenger," Hemsworth gamely replies, leading Jones to then list all the Marvel characters she prefers to his own counterpart, Thor.
When she finally names the Norse demigod, the In the Heart of the Sea star says with a shrug, "I'll take it."
Another clip features his odd description of how Australians celebrate Christmas, which apparently involves something called a Crocodile Monster that "hates kids."
Hemsworth hosts Saturday Night Live on Dec. 12 at 11:30 p.m. ET on NBC. He'll be joined by musical guest Chance The Rapper.
