Good news, Cougar Town fans: Courteney Cox and the cast will continue to play Penny Can for a fourth season!
Cox, 47, and costar Josh Hopkins, 41, are set to marry at last in a wine-themed wedding during the show's third season finale May 29, and fans will get to see their life as newlyweds after all — just on a new network.
Making the move from ABC to TBS, the acclaimed sitcom — which premiered in 2009 — will air its fourth season on the new channel in early 2013.
"Cougar Town is a smart, whimsical sitcom that draws its humor from likable, relatable characters," Michael Wright, the president and head of programming for TBS, TNT and Turner Classic Movies (TCM) told Us Weekly in a statement Thursday. "We are thrilled to have Cougar Town moving to the TBS neighborhood as the network continues to expand its slate of original comedy series."
In addition to airing new episodes, TBS has also secured encore rights for Cougar Town's 61 previous shows.
One cast member sure to be happy that TBS saved the series from cancellation is Busy Philipps, who plays Laurie.
"It's not been fun to feel like the ugly stepsister of the network," Philipps recently told E! News. "They moved us around, they took us off the air for months … If TBS is willing to launch the show in a real great way and we would actually have like billboards and commercials, that would be really cool."
