Jinger Duggar is a married woman! On the Tuesday, November 15, season finale of Counting On, Jinger married her fiancée, Jeremy Vuolo, in a ceremony in front of family and (hundreds of) friends. The pair had a famously fast courtship, which lasted only a matter of months and involved many hours on airplanes, since Jeremy lives in Laredo, Texas. Throughout the season, viewers saw Jinger basically lose her mind over her new love (even her siblings said so) before the pair got engaged on a rooftop in New York City. Now, the big day had arrived.
Jeremy’s Groomsmen Are Missing Some Clothes
As Jeremy and his friends got ready for the ceremony, it became clear that some of them were missing items from their suits. Whether the pieces of clothing were in the room and simply mislabeled or missing completely was less clear — but when they walked out for group photos, everyone was dressed, which seemed like a small victory. The former pro soccer player said it was “a dream come true” that his father was officiating, and his dad called the opportunity “one of the greatest joys” that he and his wife had experienced.
As he and Jinger got ready, they eschewed texting each other in favor of writing notes that were passed back and forth via the younger children. It was all very retro and sweet.
Jinger’s Dad Breaks Down in Tears
Michelle predicted that when Jim Bob saw Jinger in her wedding regalia, he would cry — and she was right. Within seconds of seeing Jinger, Jim Bob teared up. “You’re so beautiful,” he said to his daughter. For her part, Michelle said she would be “elated” when Jinger finally walked down the aisle.
In a quiet moment with just the three of them, they prayed together. Jinger also gave her dad a handkerchief with a message on it. “You are the first man that I ever loved. Know that when you give me away today, I will always be your little girl,” it read.
Jinger and Jeremy (Finally!) Kiss
Jeremy was already crying as Jinger made her way down the aisle. After her dad gave her away, Jeremy’s dad went about the task of performing the actual ceremony. Midway through, Jeremy and Jinger struggled to light the unity candle, but they got it eventually. The whole event wrapped up with a passionate kiss — their first ever.
“I was just blown away by how beautiful and gorgeous and majestic she was — is!” Jeremy said after the service. Jinger added, “I was just so overwhelmed with joy and gratefulness, and I just could not wait to be his wife.” She then gave her review of their first lip-lock. “First kiss was amazing,” she said. “Right on!”
Joy Duggar Is Courting
In other relationship news, Joy-Anna Duggar revealed that she is in a courtship with a longtime friend named Austin. “I’m Joy Duggar, and this is my friend Austin,” she reported from a scenic mountain vista.
“And I just asked Joy to enter a courtship with me,” the guy beside her added. She chimed, “And I said yes!”
Joy, 19, explained that they had already “known each other for about 15 years,” and he noted that he’d chosen the picturesque location because it was where he wanted to start a courtship with her. They were both “excited to take the next step.”
