Hopefully the sex scenes will be more exciting! In a new interview with Vanity Fair, Dakota Johnson revealed that preparing herself mentally to play the role of Anastasia Steele in the much-anticipated movie, Fifty Shades of Grey, was a lot of work — and not that fun.

The 24-year-old actress focused on trying to get to know her college student character before she falls in love with wealthy businessman Christian Grey (Jamie Dornan), and becomes involved in his secret life of BDSM.
"[I did] a lot of getting into the character's head — Ana's headspace — kind of before she meets Christian," Johnson explained to the magazine. "So it's a lot of reading, which I love. But she's an English major, so that's kind of boring."

While the prep work may have been dull, the actress said filming with Dornan and director Sam Taylor-Johnson has been going well.
"It's been a very smooth, fun and creative experience. I think going into something like this you kind of have all these different fears of what it could be like, and none of those things are happening," said Johnson, the daughter of actress Melanie Griffith and actor Don Johnson. "We all get a long really well, the crew is amazing and we're just all trying to make this project the best that it can be."

The finished product of the big screen adaptation of E.L. James' best-selling erotic novel won't hit theaters until Feb. 13, 2015. Johnson, like Fifty Shades fans, can't wait for the premiere — and to see who will attend. "I wonder if it will be, like, 40-year-old moms, which I am cool with," she said. "I love moms."
