Guys, it’s Demi Lovato‘s year. Her party anthem “Cool for the Summer” got stuck in your head all through bikini season and her recent single “Confident” made you ready to strut through fall in some chic ankle booties. Now her raw and emotional new ballad, “Stone Cold,” will tug at your heart strings.
On Wednesday Oct. 7, the Disney alum, 23, released a live studio video of her singing the new tune, and it rivals her beloved 2011 ballad “Skyscraper.”
“Stone cold, stone cold / You’ve seen me standing, but I’m dying on the floor,” Lovato sings. “Stone cold, stone cold / Maybe if I don’t cry, I won’t feel anymore / Stone cold, baby / God knows I tried to feel happy for you.”
Though she definitely takes her role model status seriously, Lovato isn’t afraid to show off her new body and bold sound.
“I think my new music is definitely grown up,” she recently told Us Weekly. “My music is definitely a lot more confident, sexier, and it’s pretty much moving in that direction and embracing who I am as a woman.”
