First a new baby-- now a big new movie role for Elizabeth Banks.
The actress is in talks to join the buzzed-about cast of The Hunger Games. Variety reports that the 37-year-old would play the role of Effie Trinket, a flaky bureaucrat who escorts her district's young death-match contestants to their fate.
While Lionsgate would not confirm whether Banks will be joining he cast, Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth are already attached to the film. The movie is based on the bestselling young-adult novel--the first in a hit trilogy-- by Suzanne Collins about a post-apocalyptic world where one boy and one girl from each district are chosen to fight to the death in a televised event.
The 30 Rock actress and hubby Max Handelman had a son, Felix, by gestational carrier in March. The new mom wrote on her blog: "If you need me, I'll be changing dirty diapers and trying to get some sleep."
