The stuff teenage nightmares are made of. Emilia Clarke recently revealed she watched her epic nude scene on the Sunday, May 15, episode of Game of Thrones with some unusual company — her parents!
The British actress, 29, recounted the awkward situation on Live With Kelly on Monday, May 23, noting that she was the one who urged them to watch in the first place.
According to Clarke, her parents had mentioned that her character, Daenerys Targaryen, didn’t seem to have much of a story line this season.
“Darling, you’re not doing much,” she recalled her father saying.
In response, Clarke urged her parents to watch the May 15 episode, to the point of actually joining them on the couch.
“I ended up sitting them down and being like, ‘Let’s watch it’ — and then instantly regretting it,” she said with a laugh. “My dad was like, ‘Again?’”
On the memorable episode, Clarke as Daenerys finally shows her Dothraki captors who’s boss and literally walks through fire and emerges naked and unburned.
“It’s so exciting, very tingly-making,” she told Entertainment Weekly of what it was like to film the scene. “Every season I get at least one spine-chilling moment. I just stand up and I go, ‘I’m hearing what you’re all saying, but funny thing, I’m going to kill you all. I forgot that I have an ace in my back pocket and now I win.’”
