Emmy Rossum: I Was Up for Lindsay Lohan's Parent Trap Role
Who knew that The Parent Trap's redheaded twins Hallie Parker and Annie James could have been brunette?
In an interview with Celebuzz, Emmy Rossum reminisces about her audition for the 1998 remake's lead role, which ended up going to Lindsay Lohan.
"I was 12, but I really wanted the role," the 25-year-old actress revealed, adding that there are no lingering hard feelings. "Not at all. Lindsay beat me out of the role. I'm having the time of my life and currently working on Shameless."
Before Lohan, 25, starred in her most notable breakout role, 2004's Mean Girls, she played the dual role in The Parent Trap, where she played both twins opposite Dennis Quaid and the late Natasha Richardson, who passed away in 2009 from a skiing accident.
Before Shameless, Rossum held notable lead roles in The Day After Tomorrow and the film adaptation of The Phantom of the Opera.
