Eugene Levy is keeping it real! The American Pie star stopped by HuffPost Live on Tuesday, March 15, to share his thoughts about the current Prime Minister of Canada and the legalization of marijuana.

Born and raised in Canada, the actor has so much pride for the recently appointed Justin Trudeau. “Hey, nice face to put on a country!” Levy exclaimed of the handsome politician. “He’s young, he’s a Trudeau, he’s brought a bit of splash back to Canada. It’s nice. I think it’s refreshing, and he’s bringing a lot of progressive things to the table.”

The topic that Levy, 69, especially agrees with the Prime Minister on is the legalization of marijuana. “I think it’s a great thing for a country. … It would solve a lot of problems,” the Schitt’s Creek star said. “They sell alcohol … in fact, alcohol is a lot more dangerous, to me.”

Though Levy agrees with the views of the current Prime Minister of Canada, he doesn’t quite know what to think about America’s presidential candidates. There is one thing he can say about the election: It’s entertaining. “Debates [in the past] were usually kind of dry, and now they are unbelievably entertaining,” the Emmy winner said.

“Of course, Donald Trump is who he is, and people are kind of taking to him in a big way. They’re looking at this guy saying, ‘Well, no matter what, you can tell this guy is a leader,’” the Ontario native said. “He kind of approaches the whole thing like a standup comedian, which in a way is kind of refreshing.”

“It’s either gonna turn out better than anybody expected or it’s gonna turn out worse than people expected, but it’s definitely a show.”

CBS’ Schitt’s Creek premieres Wednesday, March 16, at 8 p.m. ET on Pop.
