Exclusive Audio: Otis Redding's Widow Endorses Jay-Z/Kanye West Tribute Song
Jay-Z and Kanye West fans are going nuts for "Otis," the newest track from their upcoming duet album Watch The Throne (nope, no release date announced. Yet.). But how does the family of the late soul legend Otis Redding, who is sampled and toasted on the track, feel?
I asked Redding's widow Zelma for her take and she exclusively tells Us on behalf of the Redding clan:
"We are proud that Otis' legacy continues to inspire some of today's popular artists. We like "Otis" and thank Kanye and Jay-Z for honoring our Otis through their music."

Great job on getting the comment from Mr. Redding's widow, but the release date for "Watch the Throne"has been confirmed already: August 1st via digital platforms, August 5th physical release.
