Spoiler alert!

The season premiere of The Bachelor is still a few days away, but the 14th installment of the reality show has already gotten its first big scandal.

A finalist vying for the heart of Texas pilot Jake Pavelka was reportedly caught in an affair with a crew member from the show, UsMagazine.com has learned.

ABC made the news public when it aired a brief promo about the unnamed female contestant late last week.

"She's been having this sexual affair with somebody else in the Bachelor house," one of the other women says in the clip.

This isn't the first time The Bachelor has faced scandal. As first reported by Us, The Bachelorette's Ed Swiderski allegedly cheated on Jillian Harris while filming and had two girlfriends at the time he proposed (he denied the allegations). In March, Bachelor star Jason Mesnick famously dumped ex-fiance Melissa Rycroft on national television for fellow finalist Molly Malaney.

The new season of The Bachelor, which was filmed last fall, premieres Monday with Pavelka -- who was rejected by Harris on the last season of The Bachelorette -- meeting his 25 potential mates.

If know one can tell who was picked until after the last show. does the girl not chosen have to hide her broken heart to everyone also? Seems to me that would be very difficult to keep this from family and friends, not to mention the media.

If the bachelor can't tell anyone until after the final episode. What about the last girl that did not get chosen.Does she just hide her broken heart until the show airs.

So the guy can date 25 different women at the same time, but the women can only date this one guy? That doesn't sound fair, does it?

  • January 05, 2010 - 2:53pm Diane

Most of these girls (self-described models or actresses) are like Wes from last season looking for publicity and fame. The producers either chose these women solely for entertainment value or because no other women applied. I'm sure Jake is a nice guy, but he comes across as too needy and desperate. It's almost uncomfortable to watch. With Jillian, he fell in "love" on the first date. Reid would have been more fun because of his sense of humor and great personality.

With all the eligible bachelors in this world, why would you pick a "left over" from last season. All the girls came into the chaos already having lots of info on Jake, and they came already in love. There are quite a few fakes in this new group, and I can only hope Jake sees through them, or has someone do the same thing for him, that he did for Jillian, get up the guts to let him know the "truth." Not the truth according to gossip or vendetta, but the truth that will keep Jake from wasting his time and getting his heart broken. He's no different from anyone else, he just wants to find the right person to fall in love with. I'm not for or against Jake, I'm just against deceit and hidden agendas.

I hope Jake finds true love and get married. I like Ed & Julian and hope they marry. I enjoy the show a lot its my favorite show. I would like to see more of those finding true love. I would like to see someone from the Military try to find true love again and get married. Good Luck Jake you will find true love believe in it. Follow your heart.

Who really cares. The purpose of the show is for people to find true love, which the final couple never do. Good for the lucky contestant who found romance with someone other than the geeky bachelor.

I find him very attractive and might tune in. I have never really watched the show, but I just might this season.

    Ed is so hot.

I wonder if Jillian and Ed will be sober while on the show, or if Ed will be lapping up body shots off her naval. Those two are a match made for one another. I hope Jake found someone great, he deserved better then Sorority girl Jillian.

This show always has scandels get over it!

This show is better than Saturday Night Live for laughs. Glad it's continuing. Too funny if you don't take it seriously!

WHY IS JULIANN COMING ON THE SHOW, I ABSOUTELY HATE HER

  • December 31, 2009 - 8:57am Genevieve Yuhl

I like Jake and hope he finds love, but not on The Bachelor. He may be smart enough to be a commercial airline pilot, but street smarts is something else. Surely he must realize that most of the people on this show are just looking for their 15 minutes of fame. These beautiful women are hoping to be discovered and have a wonderful career as a model, actress, etc. But NOT as a wife. I think Ed and Jillian, the last Bachelorette, are perfect for each other. I really liked her when she was a contestant on The Bachelor and was disappointed Jason didn't pick her - but when she was the Bachelorette she seemed to be a completely different person - not strong and self-confident as she had previously appeared, but very clingy and needy. Good luck Ed and Jillian - maybe you'll make it. Well, back to folding the laundry - MY reality!

So, I have always been a HUGE fan of this show. I love to watch what they do and watch great matches. However, I feel like in the last 3 or 4 seasons the producers and TV station just try to create these WOW factors and make the new season more outrageous than the one before. All they are doing is ruining the show. If all of these terrible things happen to each contestant why would people every want to go on the show and take the chance. Not only that, but if they want these couples to survive - which makes a better story than the break up reports on after the final rose show - then why do they surround them in all of these lies and expect them to create and maintain a lasting connection. When you throw 25 people in a house together with no connection to the outside world things will become interesting enough. You dont have to add every bad thing into the show. Come on, you are losing viewers.

Why do I get the feeling the producers set this up, and leaked it to the press, before the beginning of the season in order to boost ratings? This show will never again have a scandal-free season because scandals boost ratings. So much for this show being "real".

If Jillian was smart she would have picked Jake. Jake told her that that Austin singer creep had a girlfriend and was up to no good and she didn't believe the truth. Jillian was stupid and I hope the hot hunk Jake finds someone who is worthy of him!
