The 10-year-old actress recently landed one of the most coveted kid roles in Hollywood: She will play Renesmee, the half-human, half-vampire child of Edward (Pattinson) and Bella (Stewart) in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part 2. An evocative new photo (not taken on set) gives fans a look at the newcomer, who has appeared on TV shows like Hawaii Five-O and FlashForward.

@ Lori Corsello-Hannan: Hun I think you are confused. In the book it says she ages to the point that she resembles a 5 or 6 year old. If you want I could get my book and pull up the passage. It is near the very end.
to all the people that are worried she's too old: remember benjamin button? so, well, there's pretty much nothing CGI can't do. In fact the same guy that did benjamin retro-aging will be involved in BD - i guess they will use mackernzie's face and smaller body doubles...
@ Christine Tyler - Talk about not reading the book! I don't know what book you read, but NEVER in the book does Stephenie Meyer refer to Renesmee as having aged that much! The oldest she is said to appear is like a small 2 year old. In 3 days, she grew to the size of a 3 month old, not a 3 year old. Read the book again. I think you are VERY confused!
She's a beautiful little girl, and she does look a lot like both Kristen and Robert, but at 10 years old, she is just too old to play the character Renesmee, who is only about the size of a 2 year old by the end of the novel. Surely they could have found a younger actress to play the part? A 5 or 6 year old actress could deliver the lines, and still look closer to the way the character is described in the book.

People REALLY haven't read the book. She ages QUICKLY. She goes from newborn to a 3 year old in 3 days and then the book has a time jump of 3 months and by the end of the book the child looks about 7-8. Mackenzie is 10 but she's tiny so she can play an 8 year old.
This kid got the role back in October. Hardly breaking news.
I couldn't give two hoots about the vampire b.s., but this child is beautiful. I wonder if she was "discovered" during a modeling shoot?
I dont think she is suppose to be blonde... the rumor is they are using that same tech as Benjamin Button.
I must say she's pretty, but too old to play Renesmee. In the book, mentions that she looks like a 3 y.o. girl, whose hair color and face is like Edward's, and his hair is curly, such as Charlie's. Anyway, we'll have to wait till the movie to see how it ends :)
I thought she was suppose to be blond. If i remember correctly. And yes she does looks way too old.

@Shannon, if you read the book you would know that she is practically Jacob's girlfriend, he imprints on her
