Oh, Mylanta! Netflix dropped the first official photos from the set of Fuller House, the upcoming reboot of the beloved ’90s family sitcom, on Thursday, January 7, and the girls — D.J. Tanner (Candace Cameron Bure), Stephanie Tanner (Jodie Sweetin) and nosy neighbor Kimmy Gibbler (Andrea Barber) — have returned to their childhood home.
Two decades later, all three girls may look remarkably similar to their younger selves, but they’re much more grown up — and dealing with actual adult issues.
All three are still blonde, but D.J.’s hair is a burnished version of her once dirty-blonde tresses on the show. The eldest Tanner sister is still moderately conservative, playing the role of mom in sparkly sweaters, jeans and loungewear at home.
D.J.’s younger sis Stephanie Tanner, meanwhile, is dressing in significantly sexier outfits, and now stands taller than both her older on-screen sibling and her pesky frenemy Gibbler. The once-adorable arbiter of the phrase, “How rude!” is snapped in low-cut, cleavage-baring slinky dresses that bare her grown girl physique.
Sweetin, now 33, still stays true to young Stephanie Tanner at least in one aspect, and sports the character’s trademark bangs and partially pulled back hairstyle.
Gibbler, too, pays tribute to her ’90s self with an elaborate hairpiece that resembles a scrunchie. It’s a modernized version of the beloved hair accessory. Barber, now 39, sports the same goofy grin as her once-pesky next-door-neighbor character.
