You guys, Monica and Shawnee are friends! Love and Basketball costars and longtime BFFs Gabrielle Union and Sanaa Lathan got together overseas this past weekend — looking gorgeous, as usual.
“Reunited and it feels so goooood… In London with Bae @sanaalathan,” Dwyane Wade’s wife, 42, captioned an Instagram pic on Friday, Feb. 27. “#ChocolateLovers.”
Lathan posted the snapshots, too, and added: “Look who’s in London! My girl @GabUnion! #LondonTown! #loveher.”
Union and Lathan, 43, starred as Shawnee and Monica Wright, respectively, in the 2000 flick Love and Basketball. The fan-favorite drama chronicled the relationship between basketball-obsessed Monica and her childhood neighbor Quincy (Omar Epps), who went from friends to lovers over the course of their high school and college basketball years.
Union’s, ahem, mature character attends a high school dance with Quincy, which leads to Monica getting jealous — and one beautiful, vulnerable scene. Cue Maxwell’s “This Woman’s Work”!
