Our favorite caffeine-addled mother-daughter duo are back! With the launch of Netflix’s Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life fast approaching, a new poster was released on Thursday, September 29, celebrating Lorelai (Lauren Graham) and Rory Gilmore (Alexis Bledel) and their love of coffee (not to mention each other).
The new image shows the fast-talking pair holding giant mugs in front of their faces. There aren’t many words beyond the show title and its release date, November 25.
However, the reboot’s official Twitter page made it clear when sharing the promotional shot that it’s in honor of National Coffee Day: “Drink it. Shoot it. Eat it. Snort it. Whatever form it’s in, gimme. #NationalCoffeeDay.” The Gilmore ladies would certainly approve, given that their java binges seemingly played a large part in keeping Luke’s Diner in business over the years.
Bledel, 35, previously told Us Weekly that viewers will find out where Rory stands with each of her three main paramours from the beloved series that signed off in May 2007 after seven seasons.
Indeed, much fan debate continues to percolate (coffee reference!) over whether the Yale grad is best matched with hometown hunk Dean Forester (Jared Padalecki), erudite bad boy Jess Mariano (Milo Ventimiglia) or college sweetheart Logan Huntzberger (Matt Czuchry).
“I think there is satisfying closure for any fans of any of the three couples that tend to get some attention,” the actress said. “But they’re very different interactions. I would say each one of them [gets] closure in a different way.”
The highly anticipated revival consists of four 90-minute episodes, each focusing on a different season of the year. A trailer can be seen below.
