Put sugar on your toes! Paul Anka, Lorelai Gilmore’s (Lauren Graham) beloved pet pooch on Gilmore Girls, will be back for Netflix’s revival, TVLine reports.
Lorelai adopted Paul Anka in season 6, while she and daughter Rory (Alexis Bledel) were on the outs. Her ever-fastidious canine pal, who was on the series through its final seventh season, had a countless list of quirks, including a predilection for sweet-tasting feet, refusing to play with regular dog toys, not liking when people watch him eat and fearing such non-frightening items as CDs, lint and peas. (OK, we’ll give him that last one — why are they so green and mushy?)
There is currently no word on whether the same dog will be playing the part.
Previously confirmed (human) returnees include Graham, Bledel, Kelly Bishop (Emily), Scott Patterson (Luke), Keiko Agena (Lane), Sean Gunn (Kirk), Yanic Truesdale (Michel), Liza Weil (Paris), Matt Czuchry (Logan), Milo Ventimiglia (Jess), Jared Padalecki (Dean), David Sutcliffe (Christopher), Danny Strong (Doyle) and Vanessa Marano (April).
Following months of speculation, Netflix confirmed last month that it is bringing back the popular series, which ran for seven seasons before signing off in May 2007.
The update will consist of four 90-minute episodes, each centered on a different season, although the revival’s title and launch date have not been announced.
