Gilmore Girls’ Scott Patterson Says Luke and Lorelai Are Going to Have ‘a Lot of Babies’

Move over, Paul Anka! Scott Patterson teased what’s next for Luke and Lorelai following the premiere of Netflix’s Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life, which debuted on Friday, November 25.

Warning: Spoilers ahead!

Patterson, 58, who reprised his role as diner owner Luke Danes, hopes that he and Lorelai expand their family after their fall wedding. “We’re going to have a lot of babies!” he told Entertainment Tonight.

As fans found out this weekend, Luke and Lorelai (Lauren Graham) finally got their happily ever after in the Gilmore Girls revival. One day before their big town wedding, they secretly exchanged vows at the Stars Hollow gazebo in the “Fall” episode. The couple were joined by Rory (Alexis Bledel), Michel (Yanic Truesdale) and Lane (Keiko Agena).

“[It felt] pretty good, pretty good,” Patterson told ET. “I think being married to that girl is going to be a really good thing.”

During the reboot, Lorelai and Luke decided to not explore surrogacy after having a meeting with Paris Geller (Liza Weil) at her company Dynasty Makers, which left their plans to start a family up in the air.

Rory’s future is even more unknown. The season ended with the Yale grad telling Lorelai that she’s pregnant (those four final words!). Logan (Matt Czuchry) seems to most likely be the father, but he’s off to marry his fiancée, Odette.

As for her other exes? She had a sweet run-in with Dean (Jared Padalecki) at Doose’s Market, and Jess (Milo Ventimiglia) appears to still be in love with her. Some fans have jumped on the “full circle” theory: Logan is Rory’s Christopher and Jess is her Luke, which means Rory and the bad boy will end up together one day.

For now, there are currently no plans for more episodes and all future plot lines are just hypothetical.
