Mika isn't afraid to push boundaries, as evidenced by his latest gender-bending music video for "Blame It On The Girls."

The singer, 26, who released the CD The Boy Who Knew Too Much last month, takes Usmagazine.com behind the scenes of the heavily-choreographed video shoot that features 10 backup singers dressed in half-male and half-female retro fashions. (Watch a clip above)

"We've turned the studio into an ideas factory," Mika, decked out in an orange bowler hat and suspenders, says. "[All of my moves] have been choreographed on paper, and it takes an hour to get a shot, but it's worth it. When you watch the video, you know [producers] haven't cheated. It makes a difference."

Though Mika admits the latest video was a huge undertaking, there was one point of light.

"We finished the shoot on time," he says, laughing. "That's a first!"
