Gwyneth Paltrow has a gender-bending new role to add to her resume.
The actress, 37, has signed on to star in The Danish Girl opposite Nicole Kidman, in a role that brings the story of the first post-operative transsexual to the big screen.
According to Variety, Paltrow will join previously cast Kidman, 42, as Greta, the supportive wife of Kidman's Einar Wegener.
In the love story, Paltrow's portrait painter Greta asks her husband to stand in for a female model -- and encourages him to continue donning a dress and stockings after her portraits become increasingly more popular. When Einar transforms into Lili, Greta's original plan causes tension in their marriage.

Tell Us What You Think
14Not much of a stretch---she looks like a tranny, now. high maintence and extremely over-rated in both the looks and acting departments.
that will be a wierd movie! I don't think I could stomach it, yuck!
I love Nicole Kidman, but she now reminds me of Barbie.
I think this will be an interesting even good non-fiction movie but no money maker... I agree with P HAYES; Nicole may be a wonderful actress, but she has messed with her face way to much, she doesn't have those soft pretty features anymore, her eyes look way off kilter and now she looks totally plasticized...
You must be mistaken about who has which role. G.P. looks manly every day, so she has to be the transexual, right?
This IS a TRUE story about these people, an artist and his wife, NOT a madeup screen play. Will be interesting to see Nicole and Gwyneth pull it off. If anyone can, it's these two.
What has Nicole done to her once beautiful face? Her eyes look weird. Anyone else think so?
I can't comment on anything besides how overly botoxed Nicole Kidman looks. WAY TOO SCARY!!!!
Leave it to the sickos of Hollyweird to spew more filth on society . These people are without a conscience and have no dignity. Anything for MONEY !
I hate Nicole Kidman...go away...you're washed up!!!
That doesnt even make sense in some ways. Us Weekly, try to make it more understandable please.
It's about time someone in hollywood stepped up to make such a controversial film. This is a story that is in fact very true for many people! I will support this film!
Her name was GERDA not Greta. Who writes this crap at US Weekly? Do these people even bother to do their research?
...what......the.....eff?! Are the writers in Hollywood in a stump right now? This cant really be entertaining!
