Was it Hef? In a tense new sneak-peek clip from the reality series Kendra on Top, Hank Baskett and Kendra Wilkinson face yet another struggle in their six-year marriage while in couple’s counseling.
The retired football star, 33, reveals that he was helping his wife set up a new phone when he discovered a text chain between her and an unnamed ex.
“Their back and forth just seemed so happy and friendly,” Baskett recalls in the clip. “It just crushed me. It just destroyed my spirits and everything.”
He also notes that when he casually asked Wilkinson, 30, if she’d been in touch with anyone from her past, she denied it.
“Well, I’ll start off by admitting, yes, I lied,” Hugh Hefner’s model ex says. “And that is not in my nature. It’s fair to say that I am holding onto the past because I did get burned last year. It’s not like I have intentions of cheating. And it’s not like I want to hurt Hank back. It’s just that my healing takes time.”
Finally, Wilkinson gets down to the heart of the issue, saying, “It’s almost like I’m scared to let go because of everything that happened.” In the summer of 2014, Baskett was involved in a scandal involving a transgender model, who claimed he’d had an affair with the athlete. Baskett outlined what happened between him and the model during the couple’s time on Marriage Boot Camp back in July.
“So you want a backup plan, is that what you’re saying?” Baskett asks.
