Hear Country Solo Star Jaron Cover Black Eyed Peas

Not half bad! Remember Jaron Lowenstein, one of the not-hard-on-the-eyes, Jimmy Buffett-championed twins in pop group Evan and Jaron? Remember they had that catchy ditty "Crazy For This Girl" that climbed to No. 4 on Billboard's Hot 100? Well, get this: Jaron's ditched his bro (don't worry, Evan's doing just fine on the business side of the music biz) to release a country album, Getting Dressed In The Dark, this week under the moniker Jaron and The Long Road To Love.

His debut country single off the disc (released on his own Jaronwood Records label in conjunction with Big Machine and Universal Republic), "Pray For You," is already a certified Top Ten hit and its CMT-hit video features Jaime Pressly!

But, dude, what's with that album title? "Why do I choose to write about love? Because that's where I am right now," he says. "I'm not interested in writing stories about doors, or blue skies or whatever. It's not interesting to me right now."

Uh, OK (do I sense a perfect candidate for the next season of The Bachelor, or what?) but here's something else that's interesting: Jaron's not above reaching back to his pop roots. In fact, I coaxed him into doing covers of some of our mutual favorite hits, Lady Gaga's "Just Dance" and Black Eyed Peas "I Gotta Feeling" when he popped by UsMagazine.com's NYC offices following his impressive showcase at Kenmare on June 23.

Check out the video above to hear him do his thang!
