Hear Dierks Bentley’s New Song!

Here's a little Memorial Day gift to flip on around the barbecue!

Dierks Bentley is about to release his fifth goodtime disc, Up On The Ridge, and how do I know this one will be a different kind of party? Well, the country crooner (who certainly loves his drinking songs!) just sent me a delicious, exclusive sample from the bluegrass and roots music focused effort (which includes input from the Del McCourty Band and Chris Thile and the Punch Brothers): the tender, lyrically rich album track "Love Grows Wild."

Dierks describes the track to UsMagazine.com by saying, "'Love Grows Wild' is one of the first tracks we cut on this album. I'm a big Buddy and Julie Miller fan, so when we started picking songs I knew I wanted to work one of theirs in. I listened to the demo so many times that it was really hard not to make it sound like the original because it is so good, but I'm really happy with the grass-y feel we gave it."

As for the album itself? "This album won't come as a surprise to my hard core fans," Dierks says. "They've asked me: 'When are you going to make a bluegrass record?' And I was just waiting for the right time."
