How Jon Gosselin Tried to Stop Kate, Kids From Going Down Under

Jon Gosselin is down in the dumps after a judge denied his request to prevent his family from going Down Under.
Radar Online reports the former reality star, 33, argued to keep the kids in the U.S. during a secret closed-door hearing at Berks County Court in Pennsylvania earlier this month. But because the trip was work-related (the children are filming scenes for TLC's Kate Plus Eight), the judge dismissed Jon's request.

"Kate told Jon about the trip, and when he did not agree it was decided that the judge should intervene and the ruling went in her favor," a source explains. "It was another slap in the face for Jon because he did not want the kids to go to Australia."

With the judge's permission, Kate, 35, arrived at the Brisbane Airport in Australia Tuesday with 10-year-old twins Cara and Maddy and 6-year-old sextuplets Aaden, Alexis, Collin, Hannah, Joel and Leah.

"Jon is trying to put a brave face on it and has explained the situation to his own family and friends, but obviously not being with his kids for the New Year is a big disappointment for him," an insider says. "But they all respect him for trying to stand-up to Kate and for fighting for what he thinks is right for his kids too."

for those that say jon is a loser are dead wrong. heck even octomom stated on oprah today, that being brood mare does not make you a star. and that reality shows are exploiting kids. annette you are a sick and sad person. kate is the one that needs to grow up and do what is best for these kids for once. they never look happy with her. and after the alaska trip it's nice to she she is physically abusing them as well as god only knows what goes on in that house. may god be with the gosselin 8.
jon didnt want in the lime light. he didnt want his kids in it either you cant be bashing jon for not being in the lime light because he doesnt get his picture taken for you to see. kate has and always will be a money hungry witch.
A vacation in Australia isn't exactly a hardship way of spending a Christmas vacation. Kids make fun wherever they go. In Alaska all the kids seemed to be having a ball with the Palins until Kate used emotional blackmail to get them to go to the hotel. Kate should have dressed in warmer clothes like the children did. She cheated them out of an Alaskan adventure with the Palins. I hope she does better by them in Australia.
Poor Jon, he only seems concerened when he sees his paychecks leave the country and not when he's traipsing around the country with his newest f**kbuddy. Grow up Jon, that's why Kate left your sorry @ss.
Jennifer, you don't see as many pics of Jon with the kids because he respects their rights to a private childhood!! I saw a vid of him bringing the kids back to Kate and they were hysterical that they had to go back to that witch!

Patricia Pratt: I hate Kate Gosselin but I don't post under my real name. No way in H-E-double hockey sticks will I EVER post under my real name especially on a gossip website with all the trolls "trolling" around...I invented this FB persona on purpose (it is a variation of my name but not the real thing) and I don't feel remotely bad about it. It's not just Kate fans who might post under a "fake" name. There are nasty people on both sides of issues. There are a lot of anti-Kate people who are REALLY hateful about her, too, wishing all sorts of bad things to happen to her. Either extreme is bad news.
It's nice to see her looking normal for a while once again! I love Kate but won't argue tha fact that she was not the best wife ever. However Jon was to much like another child for her to care for so I can't say she was the only one doing wrong either. Keep doing your thing Kate. Someone has to pay for all those kids to go to college and Jon certainly isn't going to. As for Kate fans hiding - Jody put it well. Some of us just don't have the time others do to sit on this website bashing people we don't know all day every day... and most of us don't have the desire to waste away life that way either.
bottom line is, just dont watch the show. Poor ratings = Kate goes away. I use to watch the show back in the day, but dont find any of them interesting enough to watch anymore.
I am not a "FAN" of Kates but I do like her and admire her for standing up for her kids. Where is Jon anyway? Chasing another piece of tail? That is all he has done since the split is chase women and get drunk. Boy, every parent wants THAT for a role model for their kids. Oh, and Ms Patricia Pratt, I am NOT hiding and NOT ashamed. Im not a big fan of Jon's behaviour but when it comes to his kids, i think he's the better parent. Have you noticed how Kate changed when she became famous? She keeps saying that she's doing all this for them, but i remember watching them before all this money and they seemed really happy.
For those questioning why the kids weren't in school, it was Christmas Break. My kids are still on it, until tomorrow!

Kate Plus 8 NEEDS to be cancelled. This is a horrible show. It's all about Kate, and NOT about her children. I watched her in Alaska, and she was deliberately making everyone miserable. She's a self absorbed, conceited, self righteous woman, who cares about one person, HERSELF!!! She complained about being hungry, yet she was given a perfectly good hot dog to eat, and turned it away. SPOILED BRAT!!!! She's a big whiner and I'm sick of hearing about her. Get a job Kate, and support your kids, and quite feeding them to the media, for your own benefit!
