Ian in Your Ear: Owl City Keeps Flying

Owl City's sweet, eletronica-infused single "Fireflies" -- replete with a video that looped in more zany toys of yesteryear than Pee Wee's Playhouse -- was one of last year's biggest out-of-nowhere hits and gave the band its biggest career boost since they emerged in 2008 with their first record, the independently released Maybe I'm Dreaming.

Now, the Minnesota boys (led by brainy frontman Adam Young) have an equally endearing new single, "Vanilla Twilight," plus a deluxe issue of their last big album, Ocean Eyes, that just hit record store shelves (yes, folks, some record stores still exist in the outer Ohio suburbs, I hear, but if you can't get there, download it on iTunes).

Check out a sample of "Vanilla Twilight" here.
