Forgive and forget. Iggy Azalea responded to an apology from Erykah Badu on Twitter on Monday, Dec. 7, even praising her.
“Hey Erykah,” the “Fancy” rapper, 25, tweeted. “Tell the kids I’m a big fan of mom, even if we don’t agree where to file my music in their iTunes folder. I’m gonna announce a new tour soon. If they do great in class there is officially an open invitation extended to them and friends with good report cards to come and enjoy a show anytime. I am 100 percent a woman of my word, and I appreciate the apology.”
The 44-year-old soul singer apologized to Azalea after dissing the Aussie rapper while hosting the 2015 Soul Train Awards on Sunday, Nov. 29, joking she wasn’t a true rapper.
“You know what, I wanna do this for my daughters, I wanna apologize to Iggy Azalea because she's one of their favorite artists, and they listen to her all the time,” she said in a Twitter video posted on Monday. “It's for them . . . But when I really think about it, if y'all love her so much, why don't you be with her then?? Go on, be with her y'all.
Shortly after, she joked to Azalea about whether she would take over being mom to her children, Steven, 18, and daughter Puma, 11.
The “Black Widow” songstress initially took to Twitter on Monday, Dec. 1, to express her disappointment over the disses thrown at her.
“Hi guys i know it’s been a while,” she began. “We are days from 2016, but i came online today and saw its still cool to try and discredit my 2014 accomplishments. LOL, f—king hell. Seems exhausting. Anyway - I’ve been enjoying the holiday season and i hope you all have too.”
