So in love! James Corden and Anna Kendrick teamed up for an epic romantic medley that moved through various stages of love on the Wednesday, June 22, episode of The Late Late Show.
The performance, titled “Soundtrack to a Love Story,” featured 11 iconic love songs from a variety of artists ranging from Adele to Shaggy. The Carpool Karaoke star, 37, and the Pitch Perfect actress, 30, showed off their vocal chops as they moved through a multitude of sets and scenarios.
The duo began with Kendrick singing Dionne Warwick’s 1967 hit “I Say a Little Prayer” before she broke out into Chris de Burgh’s “Lady in Red.” Moments later, she and Corden treated their live studio audience to a spirited rendition of The Weeknd’s “Can’t Feel My Face.”
Next, things got a little steamy when the talented twosome jumped into bed for Boyz II Men’s sexy 1994 track “I’ll Make Love to You.” Kendrick and the late-night host took on several other hits including Bruno Mars’ “Marry You” and Cher’s 1998 dance anthem “Believe.”
They ended their nearly five-minute number with the love song of all love songs, Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You.” The pair held hands as they sang their hearts out, swaying back and forth to the sound of thunderous applause.
This isn’t the first time that Corden and Kendrick — who stopped by the British TV personality’s show to promote her new film, Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates (Us readers can win VIP passes to the film before its July 8 premiere) — have harmonized together. In 2015, they sparred in a live a cappella battle and costarred in the 2014 musical Into the Woods.
