James Van Der Beek Mocks Past Roles on Don't Trust the B----- in Apt. 23

James Van Der Beek will forever be associated with his Dawson's Creek character -- something he pokes fun of in the premiere episode of his new ABC comedy Don't Trust the B---- in Apt. 23.

Playing a heightened version of himself, the actor, 35, uses his days a WB heartthrob to bed a longtime fan. During a the phone chat with Chloe (Krysten Ritter, 30), Paula Cole's "I Don't Want to Wait" -- the Dawson's Creek theme song -- plays as a scantily clad woman descends the stairs.

"You got a fan over, huh?" Chloe asks. "She get you to put on the flannel?"

Van Der Beek waves the fan off and responds: "We're negotiating."

The pals then discuss Chloe's plan to get rid of her new roommate June (Dreama Walker, 25) before Van Der Beek's hookup reemerges wearing a whipped cream bikini -- a nod to Van Der Beek's 1999 film Varsity Blues.

Don't Trust the B---- in Apt. 23 premieres Wednesday at 9:30 p.m. EST on ABC.
