Good things come to those who wait…and wait…and wait… Seven years after the release of her last studio album, 2008's Discipline, Janet Jackson is finally getting ready to share some new music with the world — and on Wednesday, June 17, she offered the first tantalizing tease of what that music will sound like.
The "Rhythm Nation" singer, 49, gifted fans with an ever-so-brief snippet of a never-before-heard song, posting a 43-second video clip on Twitter. Jackson herself does not appear in the video, but her voice rings clear as the camera pans slowly over a notebook containing the lyrics to the tune scrawled in black pen.
I wanna tell you how important you are to me! Love J. #ConversationsInACafe https://t.co/hL2qtzC8If

"I lived through my mistakes / It's just a part of growing," she croons. "And never for single moment did I ever go without your love / You made me feel wanted / I wanna tell you how important you are to me."
According to Entertainment Tonight, the song will appear on the Grammy winner's upcoming album, Unbreakable, about "the human spirit, love, marriage, Janet's precious family, and her fans."
Jackson — who married billionaire businessman Wissam Al Mana in 2013 and has been scarce in the spotlight these last few years — is set to go on tour for Unbreakable in late August. As announced on Monday, June 15, she'll hit up cities all over North America through November, with her first show in Vancouver, B.C., on Aug. 31.
The concert series will be the pop star's first since 2011, when she traveled the world for her Number Ones, Up Close and Personal tour.
