Life imitating art? Former Beverly Hills, 90210 costars Jennie Garth and Tori Spelling may be reuniting in a new comedy TV series . . . about costars reuniting.
According to Deadline, Garth, 41, is in talks to join Spelling, 40, in the upcoming ABC Family pilot, Mystery Girls. Sources tell Deadline they are "optimistic" the deal will be made.
The network announced in August that Spelling would star in the show, which is based on a story she co-wrote with Shepard Boucher.
Mystery Girls is a comedy about a former starlet (Spelling) who starts solving crimes with her former mystery TV show costar (potentially Garth) after a witness to a crime refuses to talk to anyone except the infamous "Mystery Girls."
Garth and Spelling have stayed friends since starring as Kelly and Donna on the '90s TV drama series Beverly Hills, 90210. The two reprised their roles in cameo appearances on the 90210 reboot in 2009.
