"This summer will be hotter than ever when America's favorite roommates head overseas to learn all about the culture they love and live by in the birthplace where it all began," the network tells Us Weekly in a statement. "As they navigate a new country, they will bring their trademark hilarity, fist-pumping and family dysfunction to 'the beautiful country.'"

MTV will no doubt have lots of footage to compile for the new batch of episodes.

Series star Snooki's driver's license was revoked this week following a Monday afternoon car crash in Florence. As per Italian law, Snooki — having injured fellow motorists — automatically lost her license to drive in the country. Since the Jersey Shore cast arrived in Italy three weeks ago, they've accumulated more than 300 Euro worth of fines for various traffic violations.

"They embody the worst stereotypes of Italians, multiplied by thousands and Americanized," writer Roberto Del Bove said of the cast in Rome's New Notzie newspaper in March.

Along with revealing season 4's premiere date, MTV confirmed the reality stars' summer is about to get much busier: They're already booked to start filming season 5 in Seaside Heights, N.J., later this month.
