Linstead fans, rest easy! Jesse Lee Soffer promises that more “skinstead” is on the way for Chicago P.D.’s favorite couple, Jay Halstead and Erin Lindsay. The hunky actor opened up about the character’s romance, and told Us Weekly which scene between him and Sophia Bush is his favorite.

“Linstead is going strong. If you are a big Linstead supporter, I think now until the end of the season there might be some skinstead, if you follow what I’m saying,” Soffer, 32, tells Us. “It’s going to get steamy.”

Soffer’s and Bush’s characters finally hooked up in season 2 while working together in their Intelligence Unit. Fans quickly gave them the nickname “Linstead” and coined their nearly naked moments “skinstead.” The pair have plenty of chemistry on screen and are usually scene-stealers, thanks to their playful banter. (Soffer and Bush split last June after nearly a year of dating, but were caught holding hands in NYC in September.)

“One of my favorite Linstead scenes — there’s a scene at the bar, I think in season 2, where Sophia’s character is giving my character crap about dating the bartender and we end up using Scrabble in quotes as analogy for having sex,” Soffer recalls, laughing. “It’s a very funny scene. Even just reading it the first time, I think I loved it and it came out great too.”

The costars and their castmates have become close while filming in the Windy City over the years. But Soffer, Bush, 33, and Patrick John Flueger, who plays Adam Ruzek, actually first worked together before Chicago P.D.

“We all did a pilot together playing siblings, which is just crazy. It’s unheard of that three people end up on another show the next year together,” Soffer tells Us. “It was kind of meant to be. We were all supposed to be in Chicago together, and I’m grateful to have them there.”

US WEEKLY: There are a lot of shirtless scenes. What’s a day in the gym like for you and the cast?

JLS: The schedule is so tough sometimes that it’s more like midnight in the gym. You go, ‘Ah, I gotta get in there because I had the mac and cheese and the fried chicken today.’ It’s an uphill battle, but we do a good job. We all like to train together.

US: You and a lot of your costars also love to ride motorcycles together.

JLS: We have a biker gang going! It’s like the next show, the fifth show, [should be] Chicago Biker Gang or Chicago Sons of Anarchy. Taylor [Kinney‘s] got a bike, Amy [Morton‘s] got a bike, Nick Gehlfuss, Monica Raymund has a bike. … You’ll see us cruising the streets together. Watch out!

US: What are items that fans could find in your trailer?

JLS: Motorcycle keys. And I have a ton of nerd guns in my trailer. … I like to take shots at Patty [Flueger] or LaRoyce [Hawkins] if they get too close. You can probably find about eight of them in my closet.

US: What episode has been the hardest to film so far?

JLS: Physically, the first episode of season 3, I was getting tortured. That was emotionally draining. But what I look forward to is getting a motorcycle on the show. This has been an ongoing joke with Derek Haas, one of our producers. [Soffer recently teamed up with Harley-Davidson to introduce its new Dark Custom Harley-Davidson Roadster.]

US: Do you ever get worried that your character might get killed off?

JLS: No, I mean, you are on a cop show — you never know what’s going to happen in the story line! That’s part of why it’s fun. If it were to happen, I would just hope that it’s good TV. You never know, we’ll see.

Chicago P.D.’s season 3 finale airs on NBC Wednesday, May 25, at 10 p.m. ET. For more information on Harley-Davidson’s new ride, including how the company is giving back to American military and emergency medical personnel, go here.
