Jimmy Fallon Does Uncanny Mitt Romney Impression With Mitt Himself: Watch Video!

Will the real Mitt Romney please stand up? Mitt Romney appeared on The Tonight Show on Wednesday, March 25, and kicked off his segment with a surprisingly funny Mitt in the Mirror sketch with host Jimmy Fallon.

The politician, 68, opened the clip by hanging up a phone call with his wife Ann Romney and taking a seat at a vanity mirror. Speaking to himself, the former presidential candidate said, “Alright Mitt, one last look before showtime.”

When the camera panned to the mirror, however, it was not Romney’s reflection that was shown. Fallon, 40, got into full costume to play the family man’s mirror image, sporting coiffed graying hair, a dark suit with a white collared shirt and blue printed tie, and the quintessential American flag pin.

“Looking good, Mitt man. Ready for the big interview?” Fallon said as Romney.

“Well, actually, I’m a little nervous,” Romney himself responded, looking straight at his impersonator. “Jimmy’s probably going to ask me why I decided not to run for president. What should I say?”

“Just tell him you enjoy the freedom. You get to sit back and relax, golf all the time, go on vacation whenever you want…” Fallon’s Romney shot back, before the real Romney interjected, “aka be president.”

The two went back and forth, doing trademark Romney laughs, as they joked about politics and family life. At one point, reflection Romney prompted, “Why don’t you talk about the Sweet Sixteen?”

“Oh, you mean my sons?” real Romney responded.

“Yeah, yeah, talk about Tag and Tad and Toby, Tweet, and Tumblr, and Tinder…” Fallon said as the father of five.

In a particularly timely jab, Romney looked at the issues of the world, lamenting, “And now Zayn quit One Direction! Thanks, Obama.”
