Walk it out! Joan Rivers, who made waves last weekend for walking out on CNN anchor Fredricka Whitfield during a satellite interview, received a taste of her own medicine while chatting with David Letterman on Tuesday, July 8.
Asked by the Late Show host about the buzzed-about moment, Rivers, 81, recalled Whitfield as “very judgmental, nasty, opinionated, negative.” She joked, “It was like my wedding night.”
Letterman asked Rivers if the awkward moment was, as speculated by viewers, a publicity stunt to promote her new book, Diary of a Mad Diva. “Just the opposite!” Rivers responded. “You know, I’m easy to work with.”
Rivers continued telling Letterman about losing out on a big Depend adult undergarment endorsement. Letterman, holding his head in his hand, took off his jacket and walked offstage.
