Depp's portrayal of Seuss (real name: Theodor Geisel) isn't the first legendary figure he's brought to life on the silver screen; he played the Mad Hatter in Alice and Wonderland, Peter Pan author J.M. Barrie in Finding Neverland, and Willy Wonka in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

Depp has already proven that he can bring to life any character. Let's not forget: Scissorhands, Pirates, Sweeney Todd, Alice in Wonderland, the list goes on and one. I'm looking forward to anything he decides to do.

I think it's so funny that people make a bigger deal of Brad Pitt's recent comments than when Johnny Depp used the word rape insensitively. By the way, I feel a little uncomfortable with Johnny making children movies when he said that Roman Polanski is not a predator.
