Josh Murray Responds on ‘Bachelor in Paradise’ to Andi Dorfman’s ‘Fictional’ Book Claims About Him: ‘So Ludicrous’

Not OK with his ex’s stance. Josh Murray showed up on Bachelor in Paradise‘s Monday, August 8, episode, and broke his silence on Andi Dorfman‘s claims about him from her recent book, It’s Not Okay: Turning Heartbreak Into Happily Never After.

Murray won Dorfman’s heart in The Bachelorette season 10 and proposed to her in the finale, which aired in July 2014. But their romance was not meant to be, as the pair ended their engagement in January 2015. Us Weekly exclusively revealed in May 2016 that the former Bachelorette, 29, referred in her book to her romance with Murray, 31, as “the most volatile and f–ked up relationship of my life.”

On Bachelor in Paradise, Murray went on a date with Amanda Stanton, who asked him about his tumultuous split with his ex-fiancée.

“It was so hard,” Murray told Stanton. “She had some not-so-kind things to say, and it’s very unfortunate that she would depict me in such a false way. It’s like, how am I supposed to comment on these excerpts that people are sending me to a fictional story, something that’s just not true at all? It’s definitely frustrating, but it doesn’t affect me until somebody asks me about it.”

“You have to be a bigger person no matter what kind of lies or egregious things are said about you — you have to try to take the high road,” the former pro baseball player continued. “It doesn’t affect me at all. God knows what the truth is. Like, that’s all that matters.”

Murray added to the camera, “I can’t comment on specific things in any kind of book that my ex has written because it’s a fictional story. There’s stuff that’s so ludicrous — how do you comment on something like that?”

Paradise‘s August 8 episode also showed Nick Viall butting heads with Murray, as both men have their sights set on Stanton. Viall, 35, who was Dorfman’s season 10 runner-up, pointed out in the episode that he thinks Murray is pursuing the single mom just to spite him.

Bachelor in Paradise airs on ABC Mondays and Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET.
