Oh yeah, he makes music! Justin Bieber did something for his Beliebers on Monday, June 29, releasing his first music video since his single “Confident” in January 2014.
The art-inspired video for the new electronic tune, “Where Are U Now,” with Skrillex and Diplo, features an emotional Bieber crooning, “Where are you now that I need ya?”
Throughout the clip the 21-year-old pop star’s body is covered in a series of doodles and drawings. At one point he’s dancing on the canvases in an art gallery as different works of art pop up around him.
In one particularly heartfelt moment, paint covers Bieber’s face and drips down him as he continues crooning out the lyrics. The tune is likely about Bieber’s on-off ex Selena Gomez.
“I think a lot of my inspiration comes from [Gomez],” Bieber told Ryan Seacrest in April. “It was a long relationship that created heartbreak and created happiness and a lot of different emotions that I wanted to write about. There’s a lot of that on this album.”
