Kate Gosselin and Sarah Palin have more in common than being famous moms: The reality mom, 34, and former GOP vice-presidential contender, 45, both made Barbara Walters' list of the 10 Most Fascinating People this year.

American Idol veteran Adam Lambert -- who most recently stirred controversy after a sexually charged performance at the American Music Awards last month -- is also among the top 10.

Darlene, I agree with you! Glen Beck is a wonderful person! All this man is doing is trying to make America look at every angle of goverment, to keep us informed! All that they are doing is trying to see what all they can pass without America noticing, and then they get peeved when Glen (he is not the only one) tell's us what they are doing, and then has the video to back it!
Glenn beck was the right choice for this list of people. He is smart, inform's us of the untruthfulness and corruptness in our government. He is a real talent!

Barbara Walters is washed up, irrelevant, a meglomaniac, and a disgrace to women everywhere!!! Apparently, she made in-roads for women in broadcasting; we'll she's loooooooong since thrown us 40 years back with her sniveling, gossip show, her high school dramatics, and psuedo-sense of cultural importance. I mean, she celebrated TOM CRUISE as an inspirational person last year for g-d's sake. He OBVIOUSLY paid her to do so and she OBVIOUSLY happily took the money. She is a PIMP! If kate gosselin is one of 2009 "most fascinating" people this just tells you how stupid barbara walters is. This woman has nothing but "bad" drama going on in her life and i don't see how this is a good thing and why people are so interested in people with so much trouble going on in their lives. My opinion some one who is "facinating" should be someone who is doing some good in this world and is surrounded by good people not all of this negative publicity. Barbara Walters needs to retire its obvious she can't think straight anymore. She needs to lay down and get some rest so she won't be talking out of her head anymore.
The Right thinks the Left dislikes Palin because she is pretty and a mom and hunts and is feisty and sometimes clever. The truth, those are the ONLY things we like about her. What we don't like is what she actually SAYS. We don't like the way she paints herself as (another unoriginal) tell-it-like-it-is populist pol who, when you actually figure out what she says, says nothing at all. America great. God great. Taxes bad. Jobs good. Hockey good. Guns good. Abortion bad. Wow. Radical thinking. What a visionary. It's not the Left that is hung up on the "package" of Palin, it's the Right. They are so caught up on the superficial aspects of her that they overlook that she has no original thoughts or vision or ideas. They mistake folksy charm for deep thought. It's populist pandering at its worst. Every time she talks about "Real America," I want to vomit. p.s. The argument that the media, like Katie Couric, edited down her interviews to make her look dumb is silly. It was a 30 minute interview. Everything she said was dumb. How long do you think they talked for Couric to be able to edit the interview down with just the dumb parts? And even if they talked for five hours, is 30 minutes of dumb out of five hours acceptable? How much time would you prefer your leaders spend saying dumb things? How long would you have to talk for to not be able to answer "What do you like to read?"
Britney Spears. She had an amazing comeback with her tour that she had this year. Her life has seemed to turn around and she is back at the top - successfully and physically. I think that qualifies for a Barbara interview.
