Because someone had to do it, we just re-watched Keeping Up with the Kardashians‘ October 2007 series premiere. And, yikes, it was … a lot. Let’s just say Kanye West would not have approved of Kim Kardashian‘s outfits.
That said, some truly weird moments happened during the half-hour premiere, including Tyra Banks scolding Kim about her sex tape, Kris Jenner getting drunk, and Kylie Jenner twirling around a stripper pole. Relive the #krazy #kool #memories below.
1. Kris Fat-Shamed Kim
In case you hadn’t noticed, Kim is all about body positivity and embracing her curves these days. (She’s also fond of taking down Taylor Swift, but that’s a story for another time.) And while Kim has a zero-BS policy circa right now, Kris got away with mocking her daughter’s ample assets during the KUWTK premiere. “I think she has a little junk in the trunk,” Kris said behind Kim’s back. “She’s, like, got the jiggles. … A little cardio …”
2. Tyra Threw Enormous Shade at Kim’s Sex Tape
Kim had to sit down with Tyra on the critically acclaimed series The Tyra Banks Show, and she was super nervous that she’d be asked about her infamous sex tape. Which she definitely was. Poor Kim tried to play it cool by being all, “I have little sisters. I need to teach them what not to do.” Tyra shadily responded, “Not to have sex and tape it?” Shudder … ice cold.
3. Khloé Then Threw Enormous Shade at Tyra
While Kim tried to be nice about being dragged on national television by Tyra, Khloé Kardashian wasn’t as kind, calling the supermodel “judgmental and condescending.” Basically, Tyra was the Chloë Grace Moretz of her time. Thank god Twitter wasn’t a thing yet.
4. Kris Real-Talked About Kim’s Sex Tape
In a moment that goes down in the annals of momager history, Kris spoke candidly about her daughter’s X-rated video, saying, “When I first heard about Kim’s tape, as her mother, I wanted to kill her. But as her manager, I knew that I had a job to do.” Iconic.
5. Kylie and Kendall Bartended a Party
Kylie and Kendall Jenner were tiny children when the KUWTK premiere aired on E!, but let’s just say they were older than their years. You probably remember the scene where Kylie took a spin on Kris and Caitlyn Jenner‘s stripper pole (as Robin Antin mused at the time, “You are a future Pussycat Doll”), but did you know they made drinks for party guests? Yeah. That happened. Also, Kris showed up to said party drunk due to a wine-tasting gone awry. Shrug!
6. The Sisters Actually Worked at DASH
You know how the Kardashians own DASH? Back in the day, they actually spent time talking shop in the store itself, and said hilarious things like, “I used to date a Gemini. Freak show.” In fact, it was while working in DASH that Kris Jenner perched next to a mannequin and shadily stalked Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick because she thought he was cheating. Spoiler alert: He wasn’t.
7. Scott and Kourtney Were Literally ALL OVER Each Other
Scott and Kourtney are no longer together, but they couldn’t keep their hands off each other during the KUWTK premiere. We’re talking public butt-grabbing, makeout sessions and PDA up the wazoo. The wazoo, guys! Their love was so pure!
