They had it coming. Saturday Night Live showed no mercy to Kris and Bruce Jenner, with Weekend Update’s Seth Meyers and Cicely Strong mocking the former couple, who announced last Tuesday that they’re splitting after 22 years of marriage.
Indeed, Meyers and Strong super-sized their news segment about the reality TV super couple, cracking multiple jokes (instead of the usual one-per-topic) about Kris, 57, and Bruce, 63, who’ve taken pains to underscore the amicable nature of their split via public statements and Instagram snapshots.
“Bruce and Kris Jenner confirmed this week that after 22 years of marriage they’re getting divorced,” Meyers began. “And if those two can’t make it . . . that makes perfect sense.”
Strong chimed in about the fractured parents of Kendall and Kylie: “Bruce and Kris Jenner confirmed this week that they’re getting divorced. No word yet on who gets to keep the haircut.”
As the laughter grew, Meyers added: “Bruce and Kris Jenner confirmed this week that they’ve decided to start looking like other people.”
Strong upped the ante: “Bruce and Kris Jenner confirmed this week that they’re getting divorced. ‘It’s sad, but I’m excited to start my new life as a single, middle-aged woman,’ said Bruce.”
Added Meyers of the surgically-enhanced pair: “It was confirmed this week that the comedy and tragedy masks are getting divorced.”
