He's back! Scott Disick was the big star of the Sunday, October 30, episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, which is aptly titled, "Lord Disick Returns!" While he got back into his stylish old ways, it was fancy clothes that proved to be the undoing of Rob Kardashian, who bailed on his grandmother’s birthday so he wouldn’t have to dress up, citing insecurities about his weight.
During a lunch with some of her kids, Kris Jenner suggested that they go to San Diego to visit her mom, Mary Jo Shannon, for her 87th birthday. Rob, Khloé Kardashian and Kim Kardashian all looked excited enough, but Rob later told Khloé that he didn’t want to go because he wasn’t comfortable dressing up at his current weight.
The family had other worries: Scott wasn’t doing well while his ex-girlfriend Kourtney Kardashian and their kids were on vacation without him.
“I miss the ‘Lord’ version of Scott,” sighed Khloé as she reminisced about his luxury-loving alter ego. “He was always dressed to the nines, was always really elaborate — over the top.” She said he’d been “forgetting to have fun,” and the rest of the family agreed.
When Kris and Khloé brought out some of his old “Lord swag” to show him, he said, “I never knew you guys wanted the Lord back so bad!” before admitting that he had found the old persona “obnoxious.”
Next thing we knew, he went to London for an aviation show, which reminded him of the glory days of being “royal.” When Kim found out he was planning on buying a new jet, she wondered if the family had pushed him back into his old life too quickly.
A Hairy Problem
Scott’s new plane wasn’t the only thing on the fashion icon’s mind. Kim got lunch with Larsa Pippen and confided that she wasn’t sure how to do daughter North West’s curly hair. Larsa’s kids have a similar hair texture, so Kim hoped that the (soon-to-be former) basketball wife could help her.
Next, the Selfish author met with celebrity hair stylist Kim Kimble to learn more. They wove braids onto mannequin heads, and the mobile app maven struggled but vowed to get it right so that she could give her daughter looks that made her feel confident and proud of herself. She even brought the mannequin heads home to practice, seeking even more advice from Khloé’s best friend, Malika Haqq. Yes, people, KKW’s quest to learn to braid was the entire C-plot of this episode.
Eventually, she got it right and gave North two cute French braids. Go, Kim!
Bad Boys, Bad Boys, Whatcha Gonna Do?
False reports that Rob and pregnant fiancée Blac Chyna had broken up surface online, prompting Kim and Scott to freak out and try to call the couple to find out the truth. Only Chyna picked up, and she was able to explain why her baby daddy had deleted all of the photos from his social media accounts, along with revealing that he almost definitely wasn’t going to go to MJ’s birthday party.
When they all got to San Diego a few days later, Rob didn’t show up, true to form. Chyna did, though, and made a big effort to be more of a part of the family. In footage we’ve already seen on Rob & Chyna, we learned that Rob had blocked every single one of his sisters and the future mother of his child on every platform.
Meanwhile, after realizing Scott was about to take the Lord persona way too far again, Khloé and Kim presented him with a new title: Duke Disick. They even got him a plaque with a new crest and gave it to him at the hotel. He was flattered and all, but quickly realized that they were telling him that he’d gone a little too far once again. He rejected the Duke title, but promised not to go too crazy as the Lord this time around.
The sisters turned their attention back to Rob, who hadn’t spoken to his pregnant fiancée in days. Khloé fumed that it didn’t matter if he was their brother or not because they had to stand up for Chyna. They confronted him when they got back from San Diego, and he revealed he had gone to Vegas instead of his grandmother’s party.
Kourtney, Kim and Khloé were shocked, and asked him to start communicating more and sat through his accusations of them being too judgmental. Of course, we’ve seen this all before and not just on Rob & Chyna.
Tell Us: Will Rob ever come around and be part of his family again?
