Lady Gaga Collapses, Cancels Show

Singer Lady Gaga has apologized to fans for canceling a concert in Indiana Thursday after she collapsed due to exhaustion and dehydration.
"I've been crying for hours, I feel like I let my fans down 2nite," she said via Twitter. "An hour before the show, I was feeling dizzy and having trouble breathing.

"Paramedics came to take care of me, and told me my heart-rate was irregular-- a result of exhaustion and dehydration," she added. "Can't apologize enough for how sorry I am. I could hear my fans cheering from my dressing room, I begged everyone to let me go onstage."

She said she was so "so devastated" because she would never "cancel a show just based on discomfort." Said the singer, 23: "I have performed with the flu, a cold, strep throat."
In this case, though, "everyone was concerned I'd be in danger during the 2hr show since I had passed out earlier," she wrote.

Before signing off, she wrote, "I hope you can forgive me. I love my little monsters more than anything, you are everything to me."
She said she will give a "make-up the performance" Jan. 26 at Purdue University.

Chev: People accusing performers of having eating disorders has nothing to do with the ProAna movement. That's been going on a heck of a lot longer than ProAna. Why don't you belame the social bias people have against eating disorders - they still think it's a "choice".

I was there, it was sad because we had no warning. I talked to alot of people, you had people who had flown in and people who drove 9 hours to see GaGa. It is those folks who will not come back that will miss a awesome show (I hope) A few people around us had gotten a hotel room like us, we spent over 600.00 to see her including gas and hotel, I can't do it a 3rd time, I hope she is there on the 26th!

While I agree that Lady Gaga should take care of herself perhaps she should not have choose such a grueling schedule she has let down may fans they not choosing to reschedule only certain venues (mostly smaller) and keeping the larger venues (NYC) is totally unacceptable
I, and I'm sure thousands of your loyal fans, fully supported your decision. We love to see you perform, but not at the cost of your well being. Your health has got to come first. I hope and pray you have a quick recovery, and please take the time to stop and think about taking better care of yourself from here on out! You need down time as much as we do! JR
