True fan. Lady Gaga shared an emotional Instagram video while getting ready for her David Bowie tribute at the 58th Annual Grammy Awards in L.A. on Monday, February 15.
The “Applause” songstress, 29, cried as her makeup artist helped her prep for her mega performance. “The world loves you David,” she wrote.
The American Horror Story: Hotel actress dried those tears before hitting the stage, though. The Golden Globe winner brought down the house with an incredible set dedicated to the late legend, who died at the age of 69 last month. She belted out some of his biggest hits, including “Changes,” “Let’s Dance,” “Rebel Rebel” and “Heroes.”
Gaga’s Intel-sponsored performance was put together just weeks before the star-studded show. “We had already booked Lady Gaga on this year’s show, but when David passed — almost in a single moment — we knew we had to change direction,” Grammys producer Ken Ehrlich said in a statement, via Entertainment Weekly, on February 2. “We immediately spoke and agreed that she should be the one to honor David. She’s perfect for it.”
Gaga proved what a big fan she is earlier this week, too. Amid dress rehearsals, she got a tattoo of Bowie’s face on her rib cage.
