Gaga’s creative director and close friend Laurieann Gibson co-directed the video for “Judas” with the star. She explained to the Hollywood Reporter she was wary of the video’s heavy use of religious themes: “I was like, ‘Listen, I don’t want lightning to strike me!' I believe in the gospel and I’m not going there.”
