Lauren Conrad has snagged a film deal for her debut book, L.A. Candy.

Temple Hill Entertainment has acquired the screen rights to the novel by the former Hills star, 23, Variety reports.

Like Conrad's life, L.A. Candy -- which has been on the New York Times bestseller list for 14 weeks since its June release -- follows a 19-year-old girl named Jane Roberts who moves to Hollywood and finds fame as a reality star.

"Lauren, who became an icon in that reality show world, came to us with a structure of how to tell the story in an interesting fashion that was separate and apart from the book," Temple Hill producer Marty Bowen said. "We loved her take. Her book is an honest portrayal of what it must be like to set out to be normal, then sign on to become famous and eventually realize, wow, this isn't at all what I'd planned for myself."

Conrad -- who plans to pen two more books in the series -- will serve as the movie's executive producer.

BOO! Hack! No talent face sucker!

I think she could use just a touch more foundation. That way her face would be strong enough to be able to build and hold a 60 story high rise for obese people and the city would approve the plans and permits due to the amount of foundation she's caked on. YIKES!

Lauren is classy, talented, and will continue to be successful. Unfortunately, she made a few talentless morons into "celebrities" (heidi and spencer).. Ugh!

Way to go Lauren. I did it. I didnt watch the Hills last night. Seems weird since I watched it since Laguna. I wont watch it without you. Funny how Spencer commented today that you left the hills because Speidi became so popular and he said you could come back to the Hills. Dont do it Lauren. Stay away from them. They are bad news. Good luck with your books, movies and clothing line. Your parents must be proud!!!

I'm so excited for Lauren to have a movie. I like her so much! She's such a rolemodel and she's so classy and she always walks away with her hand held high. She deserves all of the good things that come her way.

Wait... Why can't I just watch the Hills? Isn't it the same exact concept. Why would I pay money to actually go and see The Hills on the big screen, when I can just flip on MTV, and watch it. stupid.

I dont think she actually "wrote" the book herself. She probably had a lot of help with it, but i still give her props for all the work she has done.

Lauren Conrad an author? Who knew? I think that's great though. She has a brain. She is making money off her brain and not just her beauty and that's great. I'm not a fan of Lauren's or The Hills (too old for MTV stuff) but I had to comment on how I'm soooo glad that one of these blonde girls on TV has a brain.

I love this story, after the comments I read earlier today from Spencer Pratt. What a douche he is!
